We work mostly in the remote and hard to reach areas of Binga, Lupane and Hwange districts of Zimbabwe. The head office is located in Victoria Falls and there is one field office located in Binga and Lupane. The Ntengwe Drop-In Centre in Binga is used for workshops, trainings, meetings and community activities.

Across Binga many children face high risk of falling behind early, struggling in school, and dropping out. Because of circumstances beyond their control, thousands of children never reach their full potential. It doesn’t have to be this way. We support all disadvantaged children. Through our child programs we strengthen child participation and protection by enabling at least 15,000 children (aged 0-18) to understand, claim and enjoy their rights.

For more than 5 years, Ntengwe for Community Development has been on the ground in Hwange district empowering women to claim their socioeconomic rights through the use of the Self-Help Group (SHG) approach and resilience building. We improve school infrastructure, install boreholes and establish nutrition gardens transforming the lives of all children. We support Water, Sanitation and Health (WASH) supporting initiatives to ensure people’s access to clean drinking water and we encourage conservation farming including  resilience for adaptation to climate change.

We help families meet their basic needs and protect their livelihoods before, during, and after a crisis. This approach fits into a larger theory of change that creates lasting, positive change for families create an economically stable and food secure home. We provide the most vulnerable households with cash transfers to restart their livelihoods while at the same time building community capacity to restore lost productive assets at the household level.
